Right to Breathe Victory Celebration

Philadelphians won the closure of the PES refinery, ending 150+ years of environmental racism. Let’s celebrate this victory on April 29th!

About this event

CELEBRATION SCHEDULE:

  • 5-6pm: Appetizers, mingling, photos
  • 6pm: Dinner served
  • 6:30-8pm: Program
  • 8-9pm: Dessert & dancing

TICKETS

Your ticket purchase will help Philly Thrive cover the costs of the celebration and fuel our ongoing organizing for environmental & climate justice. We also have free tickets available!

We will provide a livestream of the program, so every supporter, including folks outside Philadelphia, can be part of our celebration. Please register for a “livestream ticket” if you plan to join us virtually, and consider making a donation to Philly Thrive.

** If you are interesting in supporting at a higher level (including purchasing a Sunflower Supporter Table), please contact us at resourcing@phillythrive.org.

DETAILS

This event is about collective joy in the name of justice, so if it’s joyful for you to dress up we support that, but casual clothes are fine too!

At the celebration (like most Thrive events), we will honor our ancestors to whom this victory also belongs, including but not limited to Ms Carol Hemignway, Ms Irene Russell, Ms Leslie Brinson, and Mr Alfred “Twin” Johnson

Stay tuned for speaker announcements, including elected officials, media, organizers, and more.

MENU

Hors d’Oeuvres: charcuterie + cheese, flatbreads, and vegetables with spreads

Entrees: penne, chicken parmesan, garden salad, garlic bread

Dessert: cookies, brownies, bars

We are so delighted to finally get to celebrate with you! This win belongs to us all — every member, supporter, donor, ally who has thrown down over the past 8 years.
